Privacy Policy
The short version: your audio never leaves your Mac, the app has no accounts or analytics, and this website doesn’t track you.
The app
- Audio stays on-device. All noise-cancellation processing happens locally on your Mac. Zetsu does not record, store, or transmit your audio, and cannot listen to it remotely.
- No account, no telemetry. The app has no sign-in and sends no usage analytics or crash reports.
- Update checks. The built-in Sparkle updater periodically requests our update feed to see if a new version exists. Like any web request, the update server sees your IP address and a user agent that includes the app version and macOS version.
- Licensing. Activating and re-validating your license key talks to Polar’s license API — see “License activation” below.
This website
- zetsu.app serves static pages from Cloudflare’s network. We set no cookies and run no client-side analytics or trackers. Fonts and scripts are served from zetsu.app itself — no third-party CDNs are contacted by simply viewing this site. We count page views in aggregate at our edge server: a normalized page path, a coarse traffic-source category, and a counter. These aggregate analytics records do not include IP addresses, user agents, cookies, or any per-visitor identifier, and are not shared with anyone beyond our host, Cloudflare. Aggregates are retained for about 90 days.
- Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site, per Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Checkout. If you open the purchase flow, it is loaded from and processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), our merchant of record. Polar collects the details needed to complete payment — such as your email and billing information — under Polar’s own privacy policy. We never see your full card number.
Purchases
From Polar we receive your email address, order details, and license key status. We use these solely to deliver license keys and provide support for your purchase.
License activation
Activating Zetsu sends your license key, an activation identifier, your Mac’s name (as the activation’s label), and our organization identifier to Polar’s license API; like any web request, Polar also sees standard connection metadata such as your IP address. The app re-validates the key the same way periodically. No audio is ever sent to Polar — or anywhere.
Your rights
For data handled by Polar (billing, receipts, license records), you can exercise access and deletion rights through the Polar customer portal. For anything else, email support@zetsu.app. We hold no additional personal data about you beyond what is described above.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
