Krisp alternative for Mac · verified comparison · July 2026
A focused alternative.
Built only for the cut.
Krisp and Zetsu overlap where it matters: both can clean your microphone and the meeting audio you receive. Zetsu takes a narrower path — a Mac menu-bar utility for two-way noise removal, without accounts, meeting notes, or uploaded audio.

Where the products overlap
Noise removed on both sides of a call
Krisp is not microphone-only: its documented Speaker feature removes non-voice noise from incoming audio. Zetsu does the same job through Zetsu Speaker. If two-way cleanup is your deciding feature, both belong on the shortlist.
Why choose Zetsu
A deliberately smaller Mac utility
Zetsu has no account and no telemetry. Noise removal runs fully on-device; audio is never recorded, stored, or sent away by Zetsu. The only network calls are Polar license validation and Sparkle update checks. A lifetime license is available.
Why choose Krisp instead: its official installer supports Windows as well as Mac, and its paid plans include meeting-assistant features beyond noise cancellation. Zetsu intentionally does neither.
Judge the audio, not the table.
These are unedited recordings from Zetsu’s developer’s home office. Start with the untreated take, then hear the same room through Zetsu’s Performance mode.
Use headphones for a fair comparison. Your room, microphone, and speakers will differ, so the 7-day trial is the useful test.
